Neuropsychological Assessment

Have you noticed a change in your memory or thinking abilities that is a cause for concern? We provide neuropsychological assessments for adults (18+), which is an objective evaluation of your cognitive skills.

We may examine areas of:

  • Attention

  • Learning and memory

  • Executive Functioning skills (e.g., cognitive flexibility)

  • Visuospatial skills

  • Language

  • Mood

Benefits of a Neuropsychological Assessment

  • Determining diagnosis (if any) and cause of cognitive concerns.

  • Developing an understanding of cognitive problems.

  • Identifying cognitive strengths and weakness.

  • Planning of individualized treatment plans and recommendations.

  • Monitoring cognitive changes associated with disease progression, recovery or treatment.

What does Neuropsychological Testing look like?

We will meet for 3 (or 4) appointments and will include:

  1. Comprehensive intake (telehealth; 1-1.5 hours) – a thorough interview of memory concerns, background, medical history, and psychological history.

  2. Testing (in-person in Newton office; 3-4 hours) – You will be guided to complete tests including pen and paper tasks, self-reported scales, oral questions, and or computer-based tasks.

  3. Feedback session (telehealth; 1 hour) – a review of findings and recommendation for future treatment.
